The site-specific exhibition ‘Good Vibes, Living Water’ opens with the fall of the evening in the glass pavilion of the Gerrit Rietveld Academy. The floor is covered with a 20 centimetres high pool that was build in the space for this occasion. Two coloured theatre lamps and the projection of the film Cherry Poppin’ Mouth Wash, on the only brick wall of the space, light up the foggy glass pavilion.
The film ‘Cherry Poppin’ Mouth Wash’ shows an abstract narrative whilst using familiar visual imagery that is common to film language. The sculptures in the film become props when the actors activate them. With dramatic gestures and the atmospheric ambiance they become a stage for a possible tragedy.
During the opening visitors could enter the pool to take a cold beverage.
